About the Designer and the Line
Milly & Nans is a knit wear design and crafting “Hobberation” run by enthusiast, Lauren-Noelle. She puts her creative mind, love for bags, fashion & accessories and strong desire to design into working to build a business.
Milly & Nans is named not for the designer, but for her grandmother and mother. Lauren-Noelle was inspired to honour her Nana, Mildred’s inspiration and gifts, as well as her mother, Nancy’s passed-on love of fashion and overall support. Fashion, knitting and sewing were passed on through genes and is our heritage.
Lauren-Noelle doodled fashion sketches and dreamed big since she was 12, and only recently self-taught herself to knit. She loves knitting, and even though it takes a lot longer than using her sewing machine, she somehow prefers the organic feel (not to mention the exact fabric sizing; L needs to work on her cutting skill), as well as loving wool fabrics and school-day patterns.Elle hopes to hone her skills and build her product line while making connections and building a fan base, while working as a blogger during the day. (A very cool job on its own!) Someday she hopes to have a real following and e-customer base, but for now she’s taking it slowly as supplies really cut into the funds she needs for her new apartment she’s moving into Oct. 1st. At least she does have that very cool day job to focus on… but as her mind yearns more toward the indie scene, L’s slowly coding up an Indie/Crafts community/blogging site that could someday be a career project, allowing her to tie everything together!
